Nepal Engineering College (nec), in collaboration with the Research & Innovation Center for Nepal (RICON), successfully organized the IEEE International Conference on ICT & Photonics (ICTP 2026) from February 11 to 14 at Hyatt Centric Kathmandu.
The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, His Excellency H.E. Tae-Young Park, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal. The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Bikash Nakarmi of the National Key Laboratory of Microwave Photonics, Nanjing University, China.
The Honorary Distinguished Guests of the conference were Prof. Dr. Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, President of the Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Rabindra Prasad Dhakal, Secretary of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). The Special Guest was Prof. Arun Timalsina, Chair of the IEEE Nepal Section.
The conference was co-chaired by Associate Prof. Durga Prasad Bhandari, Principal of Nepal Engineering College; Prof. Dr. Seung Hun Han, Dean of the Graduate School of Global Digital Innovation (GDI), KAIST, Korea; Er. Ganga Subba, Associate Professor at Sagarmatha College of Science and Technology; and Prof. Dr. Shilong Pan, Assistant to the President of NUAA, China.
Distinguished guests also included Dr. Deepanjal Shrestha, Associate Professor, School of Engineering, Pokhara University; Er. Birodh Rijal; Dr. Deepmala Shrestha, Assistant Professor, Pokhara University; Er. Niranjan Khakhurel, Associate Professor and Principal of Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT); and Prof. Dr. T. D. Subash, Professor at Zhejiang University, China.
The conference brought together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and scholars from national and international institutions to share their research findings and discuss recent advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Photonics. The event was followed by technical sessions featuring paper presentations, expert talks, and discussions on emerging technologies, innovation, and global research collaboration.
