Mission and Scopes
SCITECH Nepal is a peer-reviewed, double-blind, multidisciplinary, open-access international journal published by Nepal Engineering College, Pokhara University. It publishes original research articles, review papers, and short communications spanning the fundamental and applied sciences, engineering, and technology.
Mission: Encourage global researchers to publish and share accessible scientific information.

Author Guidelines
SCITECH Nepal publishes research articles, review articles, and short communications in science, engineering, and technology. Submitted work must not be previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
Manuscript Types & Length
- Research Articles — original, internationally relevant work with clear application; <9,000 words (excludes figures/tables); structured as Abstract, Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, Authors' Contributions, References.
- Review Articles — synthesis of topical themes offering new insights for future research; <8,000 words, same structure as above.
- Short Communications — concise but insightful; <4,000 words, organized like a research article.
Submission Process
- Preferred route: online via the NepJOL submission system (new authors must register for a user ID and password).
- Alternative route: email to scitechnepal@nec.edu.np.
- Manuscripts must follow these guidelines and use the official Manuscript Template.
- First editorial decision is typically issued within 15 days of submission.
Formatting Requirements
- Microsoft Word file, English, A4 paper, single column, 1.5 line spacing.
- Margins: 1.25″ left, 1″ top / bottom / right.
- Font: Calibri, 12pt (bold for headings and subheadings).
- Line numbers and page numbers on every page.
- SI units required throughout.
- Headings numbered as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1 (max 3 sub-heading levels); Abstract, keywords, acknowledgments, and references are not numbered.
Title & Abstract
- Title: concise and informative, fewer than 25 words.
- Abstract: single paragraph, <300 words, covering scope, location, methods, results, and research implications; ends with 4–6 keywords in alphabetical order.
Tables, Figures & Equations
- Tables: plain format (no shading or vertical lines), caption at top, referenced as "Table 1," "Table 2," etc.
- Figures: TIFF/JPEG format, minimum 300 dpi, captions grouped with the figure, referenced as "Fig. 1," "Fig. 1 & 2."
- Equations: numbered sequentially and prepared using MS Word's built-in Equation Editor.
Author Contributions, Funding & ORCID
- Multi-author submissions require a brief author contributions statement (using initials, e.g., "Subedi, J. R. designed research and collected data; ... All authors contributed critically and approved the final version").
- Funding source must be disclosed in under 50 words.
- ORCID ID is required for all authors.
References — APA Style
- Only cited works are included; sources must be published, in press, or from authentic institutional/thesis records.
- DOI is mandatory for journal article citations.
- In-text formats: one author — Shrestha (2010) / (Shrestha 2010); two authors — (Subedi & Pandey 2004); three or more — Shrestha et al. (2015).
- Multiple citations in one bracket are ordered chronologically, oldest to newest, separated by commas.
- Personal communications are cited in-text only (not included in the reference list).
- Reference-list examples are provided for journal articles, proceedings, reports, books, edited books, book chapters, theses, and websites.
Submission Checklist
- Cover letter addressed to the editor.
- Manuscript file listing author names, affiliations, and the corresponding author's email.
- Complete mailing address.
- Tables and figures placed at appropriate locations in-text with clear, concise captions.
- Supplementary files (if applicable) submitted separately.
Copyright & Licensing: Authors retain copyright and grant the journal first-publication rights. Work is simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) 4.0 license, allowing others to share the work with proper attribution to the author(s) and to SCITECH Nepal as the original publisher.
