Nepal Engineering College (nec) and Aveiro University ink agreement for Internationalization in Education


Nepal Engineering College (nec), a non-profit organization operating in Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur, and Aveiro University, Portugal, has signed an agreement today to cooperate for the exchange of students and/or staff in the context of the Erasmus+ program towards the implementation of an internationalization project in higher technical education in view of the fact that exchange of experience between universities of different countries and mutual visits of teachers and students are essential for quality enhancement in education.

Due to the ongoing global covid pandemic, on behalf of nec the College Principal Prof. Dr. Hari Krishna Shrestha and Pro-Rector Prof. Duterte Sandra Soares from Aveiro University, Portugal signed the agreement today virtually. Under the two-year project, teachers from Aveiro University will visit the nec and provide short-term teaching in four disciplines; similarly the faculty members from nec will visit the Aveiro University in the next phase of the project. According to the Project Coordinator Associate Prof. Durgaprasad Bhandari, four students of nec have completed their semester long study at a university in Spain and a researcher from Spain had visited nec, as a part of the project activity. The project is co-funded by Erasmus+ program of the European Commission under European Union.

 

“Delivery Robot” to fight Covid-19

nec has invented a Delivery Robot which has been handover to Shukraraaj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (Teku Hospital). The team of four teachers Asst. Prof. Avinash Khatri, Asst. Prof. Dinesh Dangol, Asst. Prof. Rupesh Dahi Shrestha and Asst. Prof. Sachin Shrestha and four students Kumar Shrestha, Raju Shrestha, Saroj Chaudhary and Utsav Khadka jointly succeed the construction of very useful device during the COVID 19 pandemic stage. Here nec would like to thank to all the helping hands to make it worthy and successful. nec is always on social service and social responsibilities. nec would like to acknowledge all the medias and well wishers for sending the right message to public. Especially nec family appreciate the team for succeeding the project within short period of time.

Workshop on “Conceptual Development for Architectural Design”

For the first time, academia, architectural firm and publication joined together on the nec floor dated on 19th Feb 2020 to conduct the workshop on “Conceptual Development for Architectural Design.” The program aimed for 3rd year architecture students of nec with an objective of conceptualizing the project.

Four students selected for the Erasmus mobility of 5 months study in UPCT Spain
Nepal Engineering College (nec) is proud and would like to announce a big congratulation to the following students who got selected to perform a five months mobility at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), Spain. nec is grateful to Erasmus+ Programme Key Action 107 – Student Mobility between Programme and Partner Countries for the opportunity. UPCT has already sent the letter of invitation to the students from 7 October 2019 to 7 March 2020. nec is always fully supported and motivated the students for their good and bright future.
