Congratulattions '08 Batch Architecture student

Congratulations 'to 08 Batch Architecture student, Pragati Shrestha of Nepal Engineering College for being awarded "Architect Gangadhar Bhatta Halabe Best Student Award 2014" by Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) as per the Jury selection initiated by SONA Committee on Architecture Education (SCAE).

Paper submitted and presented to Ozwater 2014 by Sagar Khadka.  Ozwater is the largest water conference in Australia where water experts from all around the world participate.  He will also be presenting the same paper at Water Industry Operators Association (WIOA)on September 4, 2014, Melbourne.

Congratulations to Asst. Prof. Ashok Krishna Sainju (Department of Architecture), nec for being recommended by Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) to be one of the Jury Members of Asian Paints Nepal "Dream Home Contest".


CARRD nec took part in the Civil Exihibition 2013 organised by civil department of Pulchowk

CARRD nec team consisting of students from various faculties put up a grand performance at the Civil Exhibition 2013 at the Pulchowk grounds. Various architectural models were put on show. A modelling project of the replica of the Burj-al-Arab hotel was the central attraction while the Recreational Club design accoladed much appreciation from the visitors. Architecture students Dikesh Shrestha and Bharat Limbu modelled the Burj hotel and Prajina Shrestha modelled the recreational club design. Those present at the stall, architectural students Aastha Thapa and Upama Chhetri, talked about the features of the models, emphasizing the salients features of the models. Burj-al-Arab gathered much enthusiasm from the crowd with its streamlined design and international appeal. Exhibitors from nec were thrilled to be a part of the exhibition as the interaction amongst visitors have enhanced their vocational skills and learnt invaluable experience from the exhibition. The project named Modified Cook Stove is participating in the Project Competition at the exhibition too. This is the same Project that was awarded best Project at KARMALAYA IV, organised by CARRD and hence selected forth. The Project is leaded by Roman Man Shrestha, Bikas Bhatta, Sajan Ghimere, Ajeya raj shrestha and Uttam Adharaki. CARRD wishes them very best of luck.


nec student wins MSP of the Year 2013 Award

Bipin Jha, student of Nepal Engineering College won the MSP(Microsoft Student Partner) of the year 2013.

Microsoft Student Partners are the students most passionate about technology willing to learn and share. Mostly 1 male and 1 female MSP's are selected from most of the Engineering and IT colleges all over Nepal.

Each year in Oct/Nov two days MSP SummIT is organized where new MSP are Welcomed and farewell to the old MSP's, lots of skills and knowledge on Microsoft Technologies/Products are given, entrepreneurship skills as well as Volunteering opportunities are also shared. And above all the MSP's who has completed one year successfully are nominated for the Best MSP of the Year award.

There were MSP's from 38 different colleges for the nomination of MSP of the Year Award including MSP's from nec, Pulchowk Campus, KEC Kalimati, KEC Dhapakhel, Advanced, ACME, Everest Engg College, COSMOS College, Kathford, NCIT, Softwarica College, St. Xaviers College, Islington College etc.

The Best MSP is chosed by voting done from all the participated MSP's upon seeing their presentation of activities done by them throughout the year. The top two finalists for the award were the MSP from nec and MSP from Pulchowk Campus. With huge difference of votes, the MSP 2013 of nec, Bipin Jha was the winner of MSP of the Year 2013 award.
