The concept of global village was realized mainly due to efficient transport facilities. Natural endowment of resources and competitive advantage of locations prompt increased volume of transport both of people and goods. Each nation, including Nepal, is investing huge resources to connect inaccessible areas to the national transport networks. Yet, everyday movement in urban centers is hampered by congestion, insufficiency of public transport facilities, traffic accidents, and other conditions. Thus, the issue of transportation is obviously crucial, not only now but in the future as well. In Nepal, a very nominal transport need is met by air and rail transport signifying the importance of the road transport. Therefore, the Transportation Engineering and Management (TEAM) Program is introduced since 2010. TEAM is a pioneer and leading program in this country which is conducted in an international standard.

M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering and Management aims to expose students to resolve all transport related both rural and urban problems. The coursework and research activities equip students with an advanced competence in designing highways and other transport facilities and their operation, maintenance and management.
