News & Activities

1. Monitoring of the test research phase is being carried out.


2. Test Research Phase of the project has been completed in all the study communities. Operation and maintenance training had been organized on June 17-18, 2010 in Chamar Tolia and Sonbarshi.


3. A Regional Conference on "Appropriate Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Solutions for Informal Settlements and Marginalized Communities" was organized on May 19- 21, 2010 in Himalaya Hotel, Kupondole have been successfully conducted.


4. Leadership Training had been organized on June 11 - 12 2009 on Bhalakhalak. There were 36 participants among which 22 were male and 14 were female.


5. Ms. Sabitri Tripathi,co-ordinator presented a paper on "Case Studies of Data Collection and Decision-Making for Small Low-Income Community Water Supply in Nepal"in the WEDC conference, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on May 18-22,2009 . Dr.Hari K Shrestha,Vice Principal (nec) had also participated in the conference.


6. Ms. Louise Joyce, Project Delivery Manager,DelPHE,UK had visited the survey communities of SDW Project, on February 28,2009.Ms. Smreety Dewan from British Council had also participated.


7. Ms. Tripthy made presentation regarding project activities at imperial College London on February 16,2009.


8. SDW project has organized three day residential training to students on WATSAN Model Development at Nagarkot, December 14-16, 2008. Mr, Nawal Kishor Nishra Director of Training Center of Department of Water Supply and Sewerage delivered the session.All together 10 students were trained


9. SDW Project had organized Third Stakeholders' Meeting on August 25, 2008, Monday at Hotel Greenwich, Koupondole, Lalitpur.
